GST/HST invoice generator for registered Canadian service businesses.

Build a Canadian-dollar invoice after confirming registration, taxability, place of supply, and one ordinary service rate. Calculate 5% GST, 13%, 14%, or 15% HST, or separate Québec GST and QST, then copy, download CSV, print, or save as PDF without uploading customer details.

Build the registered-supplier invoice

Create a GST/HST invoice in this browser.

Nothing is uploaded or saved by Thirty North. Use this only for one confirmed ordinary taxable service rate and Canadian-dollar amounts.

Confirmed tax treatment

This selection does not determine taxability or place of supply. The 5% path does not calculate PST or RST. Mixed, zero-rated, exempt, real-property, and special-sector invoices need a separate review.

Confirm before invoicing

Four checks keep the document separate from the tax decision.

The generator calculates the selected path; it deliberately does not infer registration, taxability, place of supply, or provincial obligations from an address.

01

Confirm the accounts

Confirm that the supplier is registered and that the GST/HST—and QST account when applicable—is active for the invoice date.

02

Confirm the supply

Classify the supply and determine its place of supply. Confirm the one GST/HST or Québec GST/QST path that applies to every line.

03

Build the invoice

Enter the supplier, customer, invoice dates, line descriptions, quantities, prices, registration numbers, and payment terms in this browser.

04

Review and retain

Review the current agency information band and number formats, export the invoice, and retain it with the supporting rate and status evidence.

Current single-rate paths

Choose a confirmed service rate—not a province guess.

The table is a navigation aid for ordinary positive-rate services. CRA says the actual rate depends on the type, place, and recipient of the supply. Provincial sales taxes and special rules remain outside the calculation.

Ontario · 13% HST

02

Nova Scotia · 14% HST

03

Québec · GST and QST

C$1,000 + C$50 GST + C$99.75 QST = C$1,149.75 total. QST is not compounded on GST.

Primary sources beside the form

Verify the rate and supporting fields before sending.

These are the current agency pages used to bound the generator. Open them when the supply, date, registration status, customer, or documentary requirement is uncertain.

Six boundaries the invoice generator does not hide.

01

Does the generator choose the GST/HST rate from an address?

No. The seller must confirm taxability and place of supply first. Use the linked place-of-supply screener for an ordinary service, then confirm uncertain facts with CRA or an adviser.

02

Does the 5% GST path calculate PST or RST?

No. British Columbia, Manitoba, and Saskatchewan can have separate provincial sales-tax rules. The generator calculates only the selected federal path or the dedicated Québec GST/QST path.

03

Can I use it for zero-rated, exempt, mixed, or special supplies?

Not as a one-click conclusion. The form requires one ordinary positive tax path for every line. Separate or review supplies with different statuses, rates, real-property rules, or special-sector rules.

04

Does a recognized registration-number format prove an active account?

No. Format recognition only prevents an obvious typing mismatch. Verify status in the appropriate official registry and keep the evidence reference outside the invoice.

05

Is the exported invoice automatically ‘CRA-compliant’?

No universal format is certified by this tool. It includes a fuller practical field set and shows the current agency information band, but contracts, procurement systems, legislation, and special sectors can require more.

06

Does Thirty North save invoice or customer data?

No. The builder runs in the browser, uses no account, and does not send entered invoice fields to Thirty North analytics. Closing or refreshing the tab clears the unsaved form.

Resolve the inputs first

Check the rate, registration number, or field list.

Use the free screeners before the generator when any input is unresolved. If the supplier is not registered and not required to register, switch to the separate no-tax template.

The C$29 Quarterly Review Workspace keeps classifications, unresolved items, evidence references, exports, and adviser notes together offline before confirmed amounts move to the return.
